About me and my practice

I am an approved counsellor with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I run my own private practice in Alton and Winchester, Hampshire. I also work with many of my clients online via Zoom.

I am a professional and experienced practitioner and I am an approved Adoption counsellor for Barnardo's. I have a special interest in supporting Adults and Young people affected by Adoption or who have grown up apart from their birth families.

I work with both adults and young people aged 16 plus and offer support with any of the following;

Coping with change bought about through a major life event, this might include marriage or divorce, bereavement or a birth, a new job or redundancy.

Supporting you through both planned and unexpected transitions.

Managing loss or the expectation of loss or unwanted change.

Work difficulties or pressures.

Understanding patterns of behaviour that lead to feelings of stuckness, sadness and isolation.

Working with past or recent trauma.

Working through unresolved emotional difficulties.

Coping with difficult relationships.

Health and illness concerns.

Qualifications

I am a registered counsellor with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and a member of the Hampshire Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

I have a FdA in Humanistic Counselling in Transactional Analysis (Distinction). This is a BACP Accredited counselling training course, studied over 4 years.

I have a Degree in Batchelor of Social Science (in Social Work) studied over 4 years.

I have a Certificate in Adoption Support Counselling which enables me to work with Adults or Young people who are affected by Adoption.

I have 2 years experience working at two local 6th form colleges counselling students, aged 16+.

I have over 10 years experience in Health and Social Care settings working with a wide range of issues; including mental health, abuse, trauma, addiction, estrangement, separation and loss.

I have an enhanced DBS Certificate and full Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Initial Consultation

I am willing to offer an initial free of charge 30 minute session. This offers us a chance to get to know each other and work out if I am someone who can help and if I am someone you feel you comfortable talking too.

Fees

I charge £50 for a 50 minute session.
